()||:Guns Girl Z is mihoyo's second game in the Honkai series, known as Houkai Gakuen 2nd in Chinese and Japanese.+The plot and setting is quite different from HI3, so you can think of it as a prototype.+Gun GirlZ was a zombie apocalypse game of some sort. I say "was" because the English servers shut down in summer 2021.+Also, it's a yuri game. But you probably guessed that already.
()||:GGZ's plot is a time loop of sorts where Kiana is destined to become The Herrscher of The End and reset the universe over and over. This was brought into HI3 before they quickly retconned it and now they're completely separate.
()||<BIN>9</BIN><Speaker>The Honkai</Speaker>:Honkai is more or less a force of nature that appears at some point in humanity's progress of technology. It infects those with weak wills, turning them into zombies.+However, those with stronger wills but 'dark emotions' can have their mind corrupted by Honkai and turn into godlike beings bent on destruction known as Herrschers.+It's Kiana's job to put a stop to that, although in other time loops there's organizations like Shicksal to put a stop to Honkai.
()||<Speaker>The Slain</Speaker>:This is more or less made up for the story. In GGZ they're just called Honkai infected zombies and were previously humans. Meaning no, you cannot summon zombies out of thin air using Honkai Energy like Destroyer did.
Kiana(0)||<Speaker>Kiana Kaslana</Speaker>:The main character. Her dad gave her a phone to track down Honkai Energy and put a stop to Honkai outbreaks. In each time loop there's some differences with her backstory, but she usually meets Mei and becomes best friends with her. Oh, and she's a lesbian. If you didn't already realize that.
RaidenMei(0)||<Speaker>Raiden Mei</Speaker>:Kiana's best friend and senior in school. Became a Herrscher in chapters 2-4 of GGZ, but Kiana helped her break free from her herrscher personality. She got to keep her lightning powers and superhuman body.
Seele(0)||<Speaker>Seele Vollerei</Speaker>:Bronya's non blood related sister. She happens to be somewhat timid (although MICA made her way more timid in this crossover). Cares for Bronya a lot and cares.... Somewhat.... For her second sister Sin Mal. Talks in third person for some reason.+Her personality seems to be mostly unchanged in HI3.+The red tattoo on her chest is a Stigmata, which is a tattoo thing that gives you special powers. Or in Seele's case in HI3, gives her an edgy second personality.
Seele(2)||<BIN>9</BIN><Speaker>"Seele"</Speaker>:A violent personality created by... Something. Maybe Stigmata. I'm not sure. She attempts to kill Bronya and injures her.+In HI3 she was rewritten to be an edgy tsundere that only pretends to be evil but still protects Seele's friends.
Bronya(0)||<Speaker>Bronya</Speaker>:Seele's non blood related sister. A bit on the emotionless side. Cares a lot for her two sisters, though she doesn't always show it. (If you've played HI3 and you're confused, they've pretty much written Sin Mal out of HI3 and she's only mentioned twice offhandedly. And if you've read the HI3 manga and you're wondering why Bronya or Seele would even go within 50 feet of Sin Mal, she's not a terrible person in GGZ, just an asshole that consantly insults Bronya and Seele despite jumping in to save them if they're in trouble.)
Theresa(0)||<Speaker>Theresa Apocalypse</Speaker>:A schoolteacher and one of the higher-ups at Shicksal, an organization that wants to stop the Honkai. For some reason she doesn't age and is about 60 years old. Apparently in GGZ she has fox ears from her Stigmata implantation.
()||<Speaker>Shicksal</Speaker>:I know what you HI3 players are thinking, "Isn't Shicksal evil and pretty much hellbent on destroying the world?" In GGZ they're more or less a cult that wants to create Herrschers to end the Honkai, which could be seen as a 'good' thing if said herrschers are on humanity's side. Unlike HI3 where they're just a front for Otto's batshit mad scientist plans.
()||<Speaker>Fun facts, tidbits</Speaker>:"Curiosity killed the cat", "Entry Forbidden", "Inauspicious Lightning", and "Swelling Desire" are chapter titles from GGZ. "See you in the next world" is the line used in the GGZ's first story's final chapter. Remember I said it's a time loop, so there's like 6 different stories.
()||<Speaker>Creative liberties</Speaker>:This story is based on the Retrospective timeline, but Schicksal doesn't exist. In addition, Bronya and Seele never meet at the end of Retrospective. Aside from these two things, the GGZ crossover is fairly accurate to the GGZ lore.
